4PM) WORKSHOP: BEYOND PRISON WALLS

The workshop will help community members define the steps we need to take to help our incarcerated or recently released brothers and sisters find their way back to the Muslim community. The workshop will take place at IUPUI Campus Center at 4 PM.

Right Track: Reversion Release Re-entry Rehabilitation

Wrong Track: Recidivism or Radicalization

• Most incarcerated Muslims accepted Islam in prison.
• Most have never been in a masjid before.
• Most need to enhance their education to be able to gain employment.
• Most come out of prison with almost no resources.
• Many need to rebuild communication skills.

Muslim reentry is happening in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Gary, South Bend, Elkhart, Evansville, Kokomo, Anderson, Muncie, and elsewhere in Indiana.

This workshop is intended to educate ourselves about the needs of re-entering Muslims and the opportunity to enhance the mission of our masajid to teach and practice Islam.

5PM) CIMO MEETING

The Annual MAI Convention serves as a platform for CIMO to elevate the standing of Muslim organizations throughout Indiana. The CIMO meeting will take place at IUPUI Campus Center at 5 PM.

7PM) ANNUAL BANQUET: FINDING A VOICE IN THE HEARTLAND

What are Muslims all about? We know the current narrative. It's time to rise to the challenge of defining the American Muslim identity through voice and action - starting at home.

The Muslim Alliance of Indiana continues to stand with and empower civically-engaged Muslims. Let's re-write the narrative, one Muslim Hoosier at a time.
